Day 69 - Ben Lomond to not quite Meetus Falls
Sunday, 6 April 2014
HH done his back again, chopping wood!! When will he learn? Clocks back an hour last night, so a bit of a lay in without feeling guilty. Let the cripple rest his achey back.
Lots of steep windey tracks up and over Roses Tier and into Matthina. Little gallery open so we had to do the tourist bit, no wood to buy, so had to suffice with a postcard.
Into Fingal, where we have been before. Plugged into some power whilst we had lunch. Few emails as we have some enquiries about the camper, pleasing. Also got the blog updated, but once I got onto FB, my driver, despite his bad back wanted to push on.
We were heading to lake Leake but pulled in before to check out Meetus Falls and on seeing the cleared area, stone hut with fire place and a bit of wood laying around we decided to stay.
I tried my best to chop some wood with The Axe, but had to stop as HH was going to injure his back further from laughing so hard at my feeble and inaccurate attempts to split some big logs. The axe kept bouncing. Hope I do a better job with dinner :)
Meetus Falls nothing special this time of year, need more rain (when we have left Tassie). Skippy, slidey down the leaf covered track.
