Tahune Forest Reserve to Esperance River

Day 48 - Tahune Forest Reserve to Esperance River

Sunday, 16 March 2014

A wet night, quite noisy. Discovered a puddle on the camper floor, forgot to plug the leaky spot by the zip before we went to bed. Never mind my bag of wool had done quite a good job of mopping up. After breakfast, decided to leave the camper open whilst we went for a couple of walks. Hopefully the canvas will dry or else we might stay another night.

They want $26 for you to do the Airwalk!!! No chance, got to pay me to get me out on that thing. It looks like you are meant to pay even if you want to do any of the other walks alongside the Huon River. We meandered around and innocently walked off down a track. Two hours later and a couple of suspension bridges, bypassing the Airwalk, we casually strolled passed the "toll booth" and nobody said anything, so still don't know if you only pay for the experience of the Airwalk. Oh well, camper nice and dry so a tasty lunch (more of the sprouted rye bread) before heading off.

HH has been delving into that Tracks book, again! After all last night's rain, hope we don't get into some slippery gunk:). Needn't have worried. Two of the tracks were closed, then the 3rd that Michael had said was obstructed by a fallen tree had been cleared. Nice quiet clearing for the night.
